Ladies Night

Here at Portage we have Ladies night every 6-8 weeks. We have had 1 since coming here and I really enjoyed it. It was Feb. 13 so I decorated for Valentines and did a devotional about our relationship to God and others. Sis Smith did a couple games and then we had a snack. Everyone brought some type of snack and we all enjoyed that. Here are a few pictures from that night. When I took them not everyone had arrived but most were there. It was a great evening and our next one will be in a couple weeks.

Jaren got a Big monkey for Christmas from Grandma Hellmann. It didn't have clothes so I took some of Jaren's and put them on it.

OB Appt.

Hi,
I had a dr. visit today and they did an ultrasound. I will put some of the ultrasound pics on that they gave us. Everything is going well as far as they can tell. I am 32weeks 1day but baby girl measured 4 days ahead of that. They are not changing my due date but by technicality she is measuring at 32wks 5days.
We are getting excited for her to come. Today we got to see her yawn and wave with her hand. Jaren got to be in there and we said look Jaren she is waving at you. He doesn't quite get the concept yet but it was neat having him see her in action rather than just telling him there's a baby in there.
They are doing my c-section 1 week early so she will be arriving no later than April 18th. They offered us the 17th but with that being Jaren's Birthday we kinda want them to have separate days. She could also choose her own date before that too which would be fine.

This last one is a straight on view. You can see her eyes, nose, mouth and chin. The eyes are 2 dark circles then nose is lighter colored and mouth is dark wide mark. Her face is sideways and not up and down. Hope you can find all the features. :)

Praise and Prayer

One year ago yesterday we had been in the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital with Jaren for several days. But we got the wonderful news that Jaren's blood counts had come up a long ways! All the praise goes to God for his healing.
So yesterday we decided to make it a celebration day. We left for town and was going to do some special things. Jaren had been fussy but we didn't think much of it till we realized he couldn't stand up straight and kept crying and pointing to his diaper. Thinking he needed changed I checked and found that it was afternoon and he still hadn't urinated. His stomach was hard and I knew we had a major problem. So off to the hospital we went and we found out that he had a blockage. They did a bladder scan and he had 405ML of urine which at his age he should go at 100ML. So he was MISERABLE! The ER was able to give him relief but is referring us to PIT Children's Urologist. Jaren's appt is Monday at 11am. In the mean time we have to make sure everything doesn't close off again or we have to take him in again. If this is still an issue on Monday the have said he may have to have surgery to fix the problem. I don't think they would do it on Monday but it would then be scheduled.
So once again your prayers would be appreciated on Jaren's behalf and his mommy and daddy's too.

We are very excited to know the gender and that we are having a girl. The Dr. was pleased that the baby was still on schedule after all the sickness I have had in the last 2 weeks. Here is an ultrasound pic taken today and so I put the original on and a zoomed in version of it.

Finally feeling a little more normal health wise. So I am very Thankful for that and also that my mom has arrived for a week. We were all very happy to see her last night, but Jaren was extremely happy to see her. He just kept smiling and reached for her.
Next week is filled with Dr. visits for me. I go Monday to the specialist and Wednesday for my ultrasound and OB visit. Hoping little Bean cooperates and we can find out what we are having.

SICK!

I told Dan the other day I didn't when I was ever going to get better. :) Being so sick during this pregnancy again and then Thanksgiving night got very sick and have been since. So going into day 6 of this. Sat. night my Stomach cramps had been bad enough that my OB Dr. wanted me to go to Labor and Delivery and make sure all was okay with the baby. Got there and then it took 25 min to find the heart beat because the baby was in a weird spot I guess. Once they did it was 160 which was good. They also monitored me to make sure the cramping wasn't labor. After all that checked out okay they sent me home and told me to go to the Dr. office Monday if still having problems, which I was. Once again they made sure all was okay with baby and the Dr. got the heart beat right away! They think because I am pregnant that it is taking a lot longer to get over whatever I have. If this is not clearing up by tomorrow then I have to have more testing done. Praying I am over this by then. So far to day has been a little better so that's good.
Jaren is not liking the idea of Mommy being down physically and not able to do much but he and Dan are coping. In exciting news my Mom is coming Friday night to be here for a week. We are very happy to be able to see her, but it is too bad my dad couldn't come too.

Fall

The other day was very nice. So we went out for a while and these pics are some of the fun Jaren had.

In other news I went to the Dr. today and we got to hear the heartbeat. I am 16 1/2 weeks now so nearing the 1/2 way point. I am still pretty sick so they are keeping me on Zofran until that subsides which is hopefully soon. Dr. Says everything is going well other than my sickness. :)
