jaren anniversary

3 years ago today we were given somre of the best news ever. It was the day that Childrens Hospital in Pittsburgh told us Jaren was free to go home. His numbers had climbed to over triple over night. What a miracle from God. Jaren also didnt have to have the Bone Marrow test that they had planned to take him for that very morning. So thankful for God's help and for those that prayed for us. Several came to see us and although I don't have pictures of everyone we are so greatful for the support. Those that came were, The Ross Gregg Family, who also brought us a wonderful sunday lunch while there as well, Joe and Bobbi Dentler, who brought us things from my parents who were wanting to be there with us, Rev Joe Smith, Sam and Christine West, spent most of a day with us and ate lunch together, Grandma and Pappy Ritchey and Aunt Bonnie, who brought us food and lots of love. many people prayed for Jaren while there but one prayer in particular stands out. It was Pappy's prayer. Before they left that evening pappy prayed with Jaren and in his prayer he told God he would rather it be him there instead of Jaren. Now 3 years later pappy has passed away from cancer and I can't help but think of his prayer he prayed that day.
many called and texted us during that time and although we know some would have rathered be there in person instead, we really appreciate every call, text and email.

Here are some pictures of our time there.

Well today has been 1 month since Heaven gained another saint on Christmas day. So hard to believe it's already been a month since pappy died. We miss him so much yet would not wish him to be in pain again. Some days I just want to call their phone and hope he answers in his special sweet voice" how are you". Here is a poem I wrote about a week before he died. I know it's not much of anything but it's from my heart.

Pappy's Heart

Pappy's come in many shapes and sizes
They love their family in many different ways.
The kids they love to give prizes
Whereas for the adults their hug always pays

My pappy has worked these many long years
Trucking and repairing the trucks
Yet ever willing to lend a listening ear
And many a night the kids in bed he tucks.

His hands through the years have become tough
Though never boasting of his labors
And the many hours long and rough
Yet Always willing to help the neighbors

Pappy's Come in many shapes and sizes
But there is one who deserves the biggest part
Because he has been so kind, gentle and wise.
This man, my pappy, he has the biggest heart.

Pappy's homegoing

God saw you were getting tired and a recovery was just not meant to be, so God took your hand and said to you " It's time to come Home with Me"

Our loss, heavens gain. Pappy Ritchey made the crossing into eternal bliss at 3:45 pm christmas day. The presents of God was so real in his room when he was passing. So thankful I got to be there. We arrived 20 mins before he died. We will miss his quiet, gentle and loving ways. Please remember mother and the rest of the family in prayer. "Just think of stepping on shore, and finding it heaven
Of touching a hand, and finding it God's
Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial
Of waking up in Glory, and finding it Home" we will miss you.

The Christmas journey along with Pappy's cancer.

Yesterday the kids and I went to VNA hospice center to say goodbye to a wonderful Godly man whom I am blessed beyond words to call my Pappy. Although he is still with us right now it won't be long before he makes that majestic crossing in the promised land called Heaven. In my heart however I am not ready to let him go. I know I have to yet it's so hard to do that.
This morning when I went back he squeezed my hand once again when I told him who I was and that I loved him.
When I was leaving later in the day to come home I did not tell him Goodbye but rather. "Pappy I will see you in the morning over there. On that happy golden shore"
As grandma told him this morning. "Pappy don't walk too fast for we are coming not far behind."
Pappy I love you and want you to enjoy what you have strived for your whole life and that is Jesus and Heaven!
Go and be made whole again with a new Body.

Your loving Granddaughter,
Regina

Yes Christmas will be difficult this year so if you think of it Please pray for our family.

Christmas Memories Poem

Christmas memories

Christmas is a joyful time
We spend with family and friends
We make up lovely rhyme
With the many cards we send

Memories near and dear
Come through the mind today
As we think of happy cheers
And games we loved to play

Monopoly, Dutch blitz and clue
Ping pong, phase ten and skip boo
That's just to name a few
And snacks we can't forget them too

Daddy faithfully his puzzles was doing
He put more pieces than anyone around
While the kids worked hard it just became confusing
Yet daddy knew all along and kept whistling his sound.

Mother in the kitchen baking up a storm
We never had to guess if it was good
As she gave us food so warm
Cleaning the plate so it could be filled again as she could

Yes Christmas memories great and small
Come to us all throughout the year
But comes greater to us special this season
Christ Jesus is the only reason
